by Christopher Mims on January 28, 2009

This week on Grand Unified Weekly: Scientists figure out the strength of gravity in the mushroom kingdom, James Hansen = Jor-El, and Borat’s cousin wants us not to abort babies with autism, even if we can detect them, which we will be able too, real soon.

Awesome theme song Comrade Elvis courtesy Hilotrons and Kelp Records

Fantastic Ep this week, yet again!

I’m very glad we won’t lose our autistic children, I would hate to think that a mind like Daniel Tamment would never have a chance to try and show us things in the a new way. He has done wonders for cognitive scientists and philosophers of science.
Click the link for a British doc on him.

Oh and Contra… I love it!

Glad at least one other person gets the same nostalg-tastic kick out of that Contra theme music as I do…

What kind of science podcast doesn’t link to the studies they mention? For the benefit of other readers, here is a link to the Mario acceleration study: http://hypertextbook.com/facts/2007/mariogravity.shtml

All right already, I’ll expend the ten minutes that’s required to put in links! Sheesh, you’d think people were watching or something.

It wasn’t easy, this being awfully close to my bedtime and me being foggy as a result, but I managed to find the rest of the links to this week’s stories.
